It’s not often these days that I can sit and create an art journal page without turning on the video camera, but with this page that’s exactly what I did. My good friend Gina Ahrens asked me whether I would create a page as a guest DT member for an up coming blog post using some of her designs. Of course I said yes!
This page, in my 8×8 journal, was created using one of Gina’s beautiful doodle women digital downloads “Doodle Girl #1”, one of her new stencil designs called “Seeds” plus one of her red rubber stamp sets. I believe it’s stamp set #11.
You can find all of Gina’s Stamps, Digi Downloads, stencil designs and a lot more in her Etsy store [HERE].
For the paint colours I used up some of the last few drops of my Dylusions paints and Jet Black Archival ink for the stamping. I printed the Doodle Girl digi on my laser printer then cut her out leaving a small border all the way around. I then created the background by layering the Dylusions paints; stamping and stencilling to create the textured background. Once dry, I stuck the digi download and the printed sentiment onto the page with matte gel medium.
Once they were dry, I added colour to the digi girl and border stamping using my Copic markers.
Just having a play without any pressure to record what I was doing was very relaxing and I was able to drift away on an ocean of sunshine of my own making!
