Cogs & Keys Mixed Media Collab with Linda Simpson

My good friend Linda has sent me a collection of laser cut, wood and grunge board items to create a mixed media art project with. Linda has exactly the same starting pieces and will be creating something in her style using her bits on her channel.

Click the YouTube link below to watch how I created my art piece above using the items that Linda has sent to me.

There is also a link to Linda’s YouTube channel in the description area under my video where you can see what she created using the same starting pieces as me or you can just hop across to Linda’s blog [HERE].

Mixed Media Rust Canvas – No63

An absence of mojo left me seeking inspiration and ideas from the Mar/April edition of Somerset Studios magazine. Inside (p118-119) was a double page spread of 4 rust effect mixed media pieces that stood out and spoke to me in their layout, colour theme and design. The pieces were created by Irl Nobel of Gilbert, Arizona in the US.

This gave me the spark of inspiration and creative mojo that I needed to create the piece above. The photo is of Ian as a baby in 1963. To see how I created my mixed media piece from start to finish, click the YouTube image below.
