It’s time for our Mid Month Mini Mission: Inspiration song lyric prompt for August and this month it has been taken from the 1967/67 song called “Flowers in the Rain” by The Move. Please feel free to use the Mission graphic below in any of your social or YouTube video posts! Grab it in the usual way!
I decided to use some Brusho pigment powders and a couple of TCW stencils, plus some stamps by IndigoBlu for my art journal page for the month. To watch how I created my page from start to finish, click the YouTube link below!

For a change, I decided to create a mixed media art tag using the prompts from June’s Mid Month Mini Mission: Inspiration. I haven’t created an art tag since October last year, so thought it would be fun to create one today using this months floral prompts. Time for a new mid-month mini Mission: Inspiration art challenge and this month as the wonderful Doris Day has recently passed away I thought I’d do a small tribute and use a line from one of her early songs as our song lyric prompt for the month of May.
For me, the words Heaven and portal bring to mind images of swirling blues and cream colours and circles, so that’s what I went with for the basis of my art journal page that you can see above. To watch how I created the page from start to finish, simply click the YouTube link below.
For Day 7 of my 7 Days of Christmas series for 2018 I’m doubling up with a project from the Mission: Inspiration Mid Month Mini Mission over on our Facebook group (link below). The word this month is “Unicorn”. Please feel free to download the graphic below to use in all your online posts.
I first drew out a sketched version of my Unicorn head, then traced it onto black cardstock using white graphite papers from Royal Langnickel. I then went over the lines using, white, silver and gold Signo opaque rollerball pens. It’s one of the unique things about art journaling, is that it can take whatever form, shape or colour you want. Some days you want to do add lots of layers, sometimes you don’t!
