Live Your Life With…Zine Video Hop

A few months ago I invited 6 other YouTube mixed media artists to collaborate with me on the creation of a zine. If you’re not aware: a zine is a small publication, often or mostly self published, containing poems, fan literature or artwork. In our case it’s artwork.

I invited each of the artists to contribute a piece of art measuring 4″ x 6″ featuring just one word as it’s focal point. Once the artwork had been scanned or photographed I created the artwork file digitally and had the zine professionally printed. I then supplied each person with their own copy of the finished zine.

As I was the originator of the zine I created the front and back pages, which is the image you see above. To see how I created the pages you can watch my process video by clicking the YouTube link below. I have also included a gallery of images of all the other pages inside the zine in order that they appear.

You can also watch all the other artists process videos. Here’s the complete list of videos in the order they appear in the zine minus mine of course!

I hope that you enjoy this little video hop and enjoy watching the very different approaches to the creation of each page, which is as individual as the person creating them. Please show them some love by thumbing up each video and subscribing to their YouTube channels.

Cindy’s Crazy Art Challenge Hop – Coffee with Dora Maar

Today I’m taking part in a fun video hop challenge with Cindy Utter, Gina Ahrens, Shannon Green, Meridel Abrams and Aaron Blazvich. Cindy has sent each of us the same piece of art inspiration in the form of a copy of Picasso’s Portrait of Dora Maar. The instructions for the hop are easy…use it in whatever way you want to inspire a project.

I decided that I wanted to know who Dora was talking to as she lounges in her chair…of course it had to be me!

My full page process can be watched from start to finish by clicking the YouTube link below.

Don’t forget to watch the other participants videos by clicking their links in the description area below my video on YouTube. Hope you have fun and are inspired to give it a go yourself!

Art Journal Page – Limitations – #Pass It On Conspiracy Video Hop

Welcome to the #PassItOnConspiracy Hop, brought to you by 10 Artists from the Inspiration Conspiracy Alumni, by Shannon Green. The idea was to have an international exchange, where the same items were used by each player (stencil & acrylic stamp), and we needed to use some (if not all) the ephemera mailed from the last player, in the art of our choice. It has been a long time in coming; the first mailing was from Texas (April 2016) to United Arab Emirates then on the way to England, it was lost.

Instead of starting over we chose to pick up from there and a new envelope was sent from Texas to England (to me!) then passed on to Wales. From Wales it was passed to Netherlands, then on to California. It was then passed on to Texas, New York, Arkansas, Arizona, and back to Texas the last destination.

To follow, just click on the first video link underneath each video in the description area to get to the next video in the hop. Continue to click on the FIRST link in each video description to make your way through the hop. When you return to the first video you will know that you have completed the video hop!

Thanks for watching and happy hopping! Remember you can hop via the links on YouTube or from my blog below here and start by clicking my YouTube link above!

Please note my video was originally recorded in June 2016! – It’s been a long time in the organising as you can imagine!
